Hit the Ground Running

This is not the time to take it easy and gradually build up your resistance and strength – no no no. This is willfully knowing what your limits are and exceeding them.

If you want to lose 10 pounds 10 days from today, you WILL go for the burn. There are a lot of fitness instructors who will be able to teach you and guide you through the proper exercise routines. With your physician’s clearance, they will work you through this seemingly impossible task by convincing (read: bullying) you to do just one more set, or four more laps.

In order to lose 10 pounds 10 days from now, your exercises will probably be hard and heavy, so prepare to sweat a lot and also for a lot of aches and pains. With such a high weight loss target such as this, you are looking at at least 4 hours of workout – every day.

The goal is to lose 10 pounds 10 days from the get go, and you do not have the luxury of time to wean yourself away from the food you are used to eating. While fats, carbs, and sugars are still necessary for energy, that extra weight you wish to get rid of will be your main source of energy from now on. For the next ten days, you will probably get rid of carbs, sugars, and fats altogether, and replace them with fiber, protein, and complex carbs.

Here’s a sample diet routine, so you’ll know what to expect once you’ve got your mind set on losing 10 pounds in just over a week:

In order to reach your target weight in 10 days, it is necessary to lower your caloric intake. This can be done by meal replacements, or by getting smaller servings, or even by changing your entire eating habit. When the caloric intake is enough for your body to try and get energy from somewhere else, the workouts will help in burning more of that stored energy in your body.

For example, on the first day, breakfast will be composed of whole grain cereals, non-fat milk, and perhaps some fruit, followed by a 30-minute to an hour of vigorous walking, stair-climbing, rowing, or swimming. You can then do several sets of weightlifting (light weights, many repetitions) before you can cool down with a few stretches and go to lunch.

Lunch will most likely be a salad with non-fat dressing and perhaps, a broiled chicken breast. This is followed by more exercises, a low-fat snack, and another high-fiber, low-calorie, and non-fat dinner.

To lose 10 pounds, 10 days of this is something that you will have to endure. So do you think you’re up for it?
